The membership fee of students before graduation is 30 euros and it is charged when the student becomes a member. The membership fee will cover the student membership until graduation or a maximum of five years. After five years, the 30 euros fee will be charged annually until graduation.
Student members who are included in The Unemployment fund for highly educated KOKO through the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland are also charged an annual membership fee of the KOKO fund. In 2020, the membership fee of the unemployment fund is 66 euros.
Changes in study information
Your study information must be kept updated for the duration of your student membership. The study information, such as the estimated date of graduation, the educational institution, and the study path can be updated with an amendment request on the member page. You can also join the unemployment fund on the member page if you have a paid job. Access the member page by logging in to the members' website.
Student members must report their graduation to the union. Your graduation can be reported as an amendment request on the member page or by contacting the union's customer service.
The student membership is always changed into the membership of a regional member organisation of the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland as of the date of graduation unless otherwise reported by the member. The member organisation is determined by default on the basis of the home address.
If you have become a member during your studies, you will receive a discount on the membership fee of the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland for 18 months after your graduation without a separate discount application. In 2019, the discount is 14 euros off the monthly fee.
