Lobbying for entrepreneurs
Engineering entrepreneurs can also be members of the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland. Promoting entrepreneurship is part of the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland’s lobbying activities. Vibrant entrepreneurship in the technology sector benefits employees and entrepreneurs alike.
Entrepreneurship affects a growing number of employees
The transformation of working life fragments careers, and incomes may increasingly consist of several streams. The traditional division between employee and entrepreneur is becoming less clear-cut as many people work as both. In the opinion of the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland, people must be able to make use of different forms of work and it must be easy and effortless for individuals to move between the different statuses.
Entrepreneurship is an essential factor in the renewal of the economic structures and the creation of jobs. Therefore, it is important to ensure that legislation and other prerequisites for entrepreneurship are in order. The social security of micro-entrepreneurs and the self-employed must be developed so that small companies do not unreasonably suffer from problems such as illness.
The Union also supports its entrepreneur members
In the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland, the matters of entrepreneur members are advocated for by the Committee on Entrepreneurship, Education and Industrial Policy. The committee focuses on matters related to maintaining the work ability and professional skills of entrepreneurs, actively works to improve entrepreneurs’ unemployment security and aims to promote more extensive networking among entrepreneurs.
The Union of Professional Engineers in Finland is also a member of Akavalaiset Yrittäjät (Akava Entrepreneurs) – AKY.Through AKY, the Union carries out its entrepreneur lobbying and offers entrepreneurship-related benefits to its members. Members of the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland are automatically entitled to the benefits offered by AKY.
