Roosa’s career story

Roosa Huttunen
SAP Super user
Meyer Turku
Multi-talented person dares to push her limits
Roosa started studying energy and environmental engineering at Vaasa University of Applied Sciences. However, she didn’t feel that the field was quite her thing, and she would to move to Turku, which also changed the direction of her studies. In 2021, she graduated as an engineer in industrial management.
During her studies, Roosa worked in a sales tool development team at ABB and as a ship-broker at Yara. Just before graduating, she started as a sales employee, but didn’t feel that it was her thing. Her next role was as a transport and packaging engineer at Valmet Automotive’s battery factory, where Roosa says she has developed a lot. She currently works at the Turku shipyard as an SAP Super User in the planning department.
“Every job change has increased my salary. Sometimes more and sometimes less. Due to my field of study and my personality, I feel that I’m a versatile engineer capable of doing a diverse range of work. It’s important to me that the workplace and team suit me. I can easily get excited about different tasks and I like to test my limits,” says Roosa.

Roosa has taken advantage of the Union’s career services and salary counseling during her job search. She has asked for feedback on the job application documents and advice on salary requests for certain jobs. In addition, she has received coaching through Coolla in personal career coaching in connection with her last job change.
Roosa says she is open to many different career directions in the future. She wants to be able to use her own strengths in her work, such as her interpersonal skills combined with her technological competence.
