Changing the unemployment fund

The unemployment fund can only be changed during an employment relationship. You cannot change your unemployment fund if you are unemployed, fully laid off or on child care leave or study leave, for example, even if your employment relationship is valid.

If you are already a member of an unemployment fund, you can become a member of the KOKO fund without losing your membership and employment condition. Changing funds does not affect the amount of compensation.

You must join the new fund within one calendar month of the date of resigning from the previous fund in order to retain the already accumulated membership and employment condition.

When changing the unemployment fund, the membership application is first sent to the new fund and the resignation is notified to the previous fund until the new membership has been confirmed. The membership fee must be paid to the previous fund until the time of resignation.

The employment condition you accumulated in the previous unemployment fund will be retained if the membership break between the unemployment funds is less than one month. We recommend transferring your membership without interruptions as the interruption does not accumulate the condition regarding previous employment.

If you have any questions about changing unemployment funds, feel free to contact the Union’s Customer Service.
