Raffle and competition rules

1. General information on Union raffles

By participating in a Union of Professional Engineers raffle, you agree to adhere to the following rules.

3. Entry

The entry period is defined separately for each period. Entries received outside the entry period will not be considered.

Detailed entry instructions will be published for each raffle. For instance, entries to event raffles are often handled via a handwritten print form or via an electronic form, and social media raffles by voting or commenting on the raffle post.

If the raffle is held on Facebook or another social network service, it is not held or sponsored by the social media platform operator. Participants waive any claims towards the company in question regarding the raffle and agree to follow its terms of service in addition to these rules.

Union of Professional Engineers personnel may not enter raffles.

4. Processing of personal data

The organizer processes the entry data solely for the purpose of implementing the raffle and to deliver the prizes. Provided name and contact data is only used to select and announce the winner and to deliver the prize. Provided data will not be used or handed over for direct marketing purposes without separate, express permission. The data will not be handed over to a third party. Read the raffle file description.

5. Organizer liabilities

The organizer is liable for any possible raffle tax.

Participants release the organizer of any liability that is caused or is claimed to be the cause of their participation in the raffle. The organizer’s liability towards participants shall not exceed the value or amount of the prize. The organizer is not liable for computer-related issues or matters which may prevent the participant from accepting the prize.

6. Technical issues

The organizer is not liable for the functioning of the entry channels of the raffle or entries that are interrupted or lost due to technical issues.

7. Raffle, prizes, and announcement

The raffle shall be drawn from all entries. The prize shall be announced separately for each raffle.

The winner will be contacted personally. The organizer shall publish the names of the winner in the media of its choosing without separate consent, notice, or compensation. If the winner cannot be contacted, a new winner shall be drawn. Prizes may be arranged for pick-up or delivery. The organizer shall be liable for the delivery costs of the prize. The prize may not be exchanged for cash or other prizes.

8. Other conditions

By entering the raffle, participants agree to follow these rules and any decisions by the Organizer regarding their interpretation. The organizer retains the right to reject an entry if the participant is suspected of fraud or breaking the rules of entry. 

The organizer retains the right to change the raffle and the rules that do not materially affect the participant.
